XC Stellar At Bulldog Invitational

Tuesday, September 20, the cross country team hosted their only home meet at the Cooperation Park. Many younger kids ran in the middle school/open race.

With Harbor Springs absence gave Inland Lakes an opportunity to win the meet, with Boyne City being their biggest challenge. At the end the girls team took first place with 28 points and Boyne City behind by 32 points. The boys finished in second place with 66 points, only 45 points behind Boyne City.

“They are improving on their racing skills and it will be fun to see where they are in the next month,” coach Brandon Beltz said.

“This is the third race for the team in six days, so I knew that fatigue was setting it. I also have a few girls battling colds, and I knew that would be an issue,” Sarah Furman said. “Overall they raced hard and aggressively and put on a show at home. I knew Boyne City would be tough, but we held strong.”

Next meet is held on September 29 at Mackinaw Club.
