Monday, January 18, the undefeated Posen Vikings came to Inland Lakes for non-conference game.
In the first half the Lady Bulldogs struggled to keep pace against the speedy Vikings. Passes were not on, with Posen stealing the ball early and often. The bulldogs could not break their 3-2 half court trap.
The girls had fouling troubles with the first half with Lexi Passino earning three fouls in the first quarter. Katie Byrne and Cloe Mallory each had two fouls by the end of the first half.
The second half the girls tried to pull their game together, focusing on finding gaps in the 3-2 trap. The Lady Bulldogs still struggled with their passes as Posen’s defenders appeared in every passing lane and out rebounding the Bulldogs at both end of the court. The score at the end of the third quarter was 22-49.
Cloe and Katie were at the free throw line quite a bit tonight. Lexi fouled out of the game early in the fourth quarter.
Cloe Mallory led with 10 points.
Final score: 33-64. The varsity record is now 3-5 (3-3 in conference.)
The girls travel to Forest Area on Wednesday for a Ski Valley Conference matchup.
