With the varsity girls feeling the Johannesburg-Lewiston pressure, they put up a good fight, but ended up falling short.
They started out strong, staying close to the Cardinals in the first quarter, 8-13. But as JoBurg turned their full court press on and off, the ladies could not keep up.
“I think we put up a good fight,” junior Vanessa Wandrie said. “If we would have boxed out more, I think we could of won the game.”
With a final score of 43-61, Coach Clancy was encouraged by numerous aspects of the game, considering JoBurg was loaded with senior talent.
The vasity girls record now stands at 4-8, with their next game at home against Detour on Tuesday, February 2.
