This is the first in a series of teacher features. We will interview all the teachers and some of the staff and find out a little bit about them each week.
Morgan Kottke is the Spanish teacher and advisor of the World Culture Club.
Why did you start teaching?:
I began teaching because I love the Spanish language and the culture. I wanted to find a way so that I could share that passion as well as be a part of it everyday.
What do you do in your spare time?:
In my spare time, I like to read a lot, watch movies, and spend time with my boyfriend and Ms. Basgall.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?:
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Costa Rica because it literally translates to rich coast! It is well known for the beautiful country and all the adventures it has to offer.
What is your secret talent?:
I kind of like to cook and bake, so I think I am pretty good at that.
What would you do if you won the lottery?:
If I won the lottery I would like to go back to college because there is so much more to learn! I would also love to travel the world!
What were you doing before you started teaching at Inland Lakes?
Before I began teaching at Inland Lakes, I taught for two years at Monroe High School.
Would you rather go skydiving or scuba diving?:
I have already been skydiving, so I would like to go scuba diving.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would be to teleport.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is when someone flips between the channels and doesn’t watch one show or movie or nails on a chalkboard, yea that I hate that…
Describe your dream house:
My dream house is big, fresh, clean, and with lots of candles and feng shui. I would like to have in my dream house a library like the one in Beauty and the Beast with my own little hidden reading nook.
