State Finals yields two medals in track

Inland Lakes traveled to Grand Rapids to compete for finals at House Man Field. Around 58 teams showed up and the girls finished in 31st with 5 points while Luke Passino finished for his team in 33rd with 6 points.

Luke Passino re broke his record making this his third time he has broken the 800 meter record. He is now leaving the record at 1:59.36.

“Luke made a couple of great moves on the second lap to get himself on the podium.  He broke his own school running a blistering 1:59.36,” boys coach Brandon Beltz said.  “It was quite a sight to watch him compete and succeed on such a large stage. ”

“Katie Byrne capped off a fantastic season and career with All State recognition in the high jump.  She was a feather away from jumping 5′,” girls coach Sarah Furman said.  “Alexis Passino finished her impressive career as well.  Shank, Kline, and Mansfield are all sophomores and they are definitely thinking about and talking about how to get on that podium as well.”
