Sophomores take float competition

The sophomores won the float competition for Homecoming 2017.

The sophomores took first place for the floats during halftime at the football game. They chose Halloween for their holiday. Freshman took fourth with Valentine’s Day, juniors took second with Thanksgiving, and the seniors took third with Christmas. The sophomores had the most creativity and showed up with the most impressive float. Judges gave them 58 points, while the juniors earned 55, the seniors 48 and the freshmen 41.

It takes some time and putting in work to pull off an impressive float.

“We had seven meetings, that lasted roughly two hours long each so fourteen hours total,” Chloe Smeltzer said. “We had a pretty good group of people who came to help construct our float, around ten people each meeting.”
