On Monday, May 23, the girls softball team traveled to Gaylord to get the win over the St. Mary Snowbirds and earn Ski Valley Conference Champs.
In the first game the Bulldogs started with Cloe Mallory on the mound. She finished strong with seven strikeouts and allowing no hits, making sure the Snowbirds did not score a run. It was an 18-0 shutout for the girls. Pamela Braund had three singles and two RBI, while Kimmy Rorick doubled, and had three RBI. Vanessa Wandrie also had two singles and three RBI.
The second game included Lindsay Van Daele pitching, with seven strikeouts, allowed one hit, and gave up one walk. Mallory doubled and singled with a three RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 14-1 win over the Snowbirds.
“We’re so proud of the girls, they’ve really come a long way,” coach Krissi Thompson said.
Inland Lakes will be hosting their last regular season game on Thursday, May 26, against Cheboygan.
