Varsity Victorious Versus Warriors

The girls basketball teams travelled to Forest Area on January 20, midway through exam week.

In the first quarter the varsity started out with a lot of steals and fast break layups. From the field, the lady Bulldogs shots were not falling.

The defense played really tight. Forest Area had a hard time getting past half court. The girls got a lot of steals off of their half court trap. The girls ended the first half with a 20-9 lead. Katie Byrne led the second quarter with seven points.

The third quarter was a scrappy one. The Bulldogs were trying to find a gap in the Warriors 2-3 zone defense. It was a rough quarter with very little scoring. The score at the end of the third quarter was 29-16.

Forest Area’s pressure cut the lead to 36-25 with two minutes left, bringing the crowd back into the game.

Scrappy play at both ends led to that being the final score, 36-25.

The varsity record now stands at 4-5 (4-3 in conference.)
