Record Being Tossed Around

The cross country teams traveled to Gaylord to compete in Regionals at the Michaywe Golf Course on Saturday,  October 29.

The girls team placed second in their Region and qualified for States as a team. This is the fourth consecutive year the girls team has qualified for the State meet. Hailey Shank and Abbi Kline individually qualified for States by placing in the top 15. The boys team placed seventh with Luke Passino qualifying individually for States.

Hailey Shank broke the school’s girls record, running the 5 km course in 20:02. She broke Abbi Kline’s record of 20:04 which was set on the same course a week earlier. The girls’ record has been set three times this season.

“The amount of competition in the Regional this year was very tough, with several teams having a great set of athletes,” boys coach Brandon Beltz said.

States runs at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn on Saturday, November 5.
