My First JV Game

Last night in Johannesburg, I played my first ever junior varsity basketball game. I got pulled up by the varsity coach, Pat Clancy, during my freshman year. I have never been able to experience what JV is like until last night.

I went down to help out the JV because they were short players and needed an extra set of feet. Going into this game, I knew it would be a tough one. Joburg has been a strong opponent ever since I could remember. I knew I had to step up and be a leader for the girls who were watching and learning new things from me.

I scored 18 points by shooting six field goals and 6 out of 10 free throws. I helped the girls take home the win in overtime.

However, I was not the only girl out there doing work. Ava Hansel scored 10 points and Sheldon Vizina had 5. It was a great game for Breann Keith as she banked a three in over time. Overall, it was a great experience all around.

The JV team got to experience a win at Johannesburg 41-35, and I got to experience a whole game on the court in a high school game.
