The seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams traveled to Gaylord, November 30, to take their fiercest rival. Sadly, the seventh grade team fell short, 5-25. On the other hand, the eighth grade team played very well and took the win at the end of the night with a score of 21-11.
“I think we all played very well, and worked together greatly as a team,” said eighth grader Lexi Engler.
The eighth grade started with a lead first half, then stayed ahead throughout the rest of the game.
“I felt like we all kicked butt out there, and I was feeling confident with our playing ability,” Gracey Henckel said. “I also felt like a brick wall against those girls.”
Lexi Engler led the eighth grade with 10 points while Gracey Henckel added 8.
The girls’ final basketball game will be at home on Wednesday, December 2, against Bellaire.
