On Tuesday, February 9, the Pellston girls came to town for a Ski Valley conference match up.

The junior varsity girls had a slow start in the first quarter. Inland Lakes could not get around Pellston’s defense and was struggling with ball control. The score was tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the girls slowly got their heads into the game with lots of steals and some made free throws. Both teams wanted the win, scoring seven points each, leaving the game tied at the break at 13-13.

After half time the JV stepped their game up by breaking the Hornets press and setting up their offense. The girls also stepped up their own defense so that the Hornets couldn’t get the ball in the paint. In the third quarter, the girls scored 11 points.

Starting the fourth quarter, the score was 24-21. The Jv girls were not looking forward to potentially losing to Pellston, so came out and took charge of the game. The girls were pressing the Hornets the whole game. The Lady Buldogs went home with the win that night with a score of 33-26.

Hanna Green led the team with 10 points. Camryn Glynn led with 16 rebounds, 11 on the defensive end. Hailey Shank had 8 steals on defense.
