Bulldogs travelled to Macelona on Feburary 25, to finish off the season.
With this being the girls last game of the season their game plan was geared toward the win. The JV girls started strong on offense and defense. Bulldogs scored 16 points in the first quarter, while limiting Mancelona to only five.
During the second quarter, the Bulldogs ran into foul trouble, but that didn’t stop the girls from playing even harder. Mancelona managed to score 4 points in the second quarter. Halftime arrived with the Bulldogs leading, 32-14.
In the third quarter the lady Bulldogs scored 12 points, with more tough defense, holding Macelona to only five points. At the end of the third quarter the score was 44-19.
In the fourth quarter the Bulldogs game was starting to slow down and the girls were getting worn down. Coach Tim Morley had the starters back in and within seconds, Abby Makowski fouled out in the middle of the quarter.
Hailey Shank led with the first player to earn a triple-double in Coach Morley’s coaching career, with 26 points, 10 steals and 10 rebounds.
The final score was 50-28. The junior varsity lady Bulldogs finish the season 12-7.
“This has been one of the most outstanding teams I have ever coached,” Coach Morley said. “They had a perfect balance of speed and height, goofiness and seriousness. It’s been a joy to coach them.”
