On Jan. 18, the boys junior varsity basketball team took on the Forest Area Warriors. They came out with a 51-12 win over the Warriors. The Bulldogs could not get going until the third quarter, but put their foot down from there. The team held the lead the entire game.
The Bulldogs started really slow and couldn’t get it going in the 1st, but played great defense to hold the Warriors as they were up 8-4.
The Bulldogs still could not get their shots to fall, but they were still playing outstanding defense. They were able to hold the Warriors to only three points in the second quarter, keeping the score at a low 12-7.
Coming out of halftime the Bulldogs started out with a bang causing turnovers, reeking havoc, and pushing the tempo. The Warriors just couldn’t keep up with the Bulldogs as they went on to score 24 points in the third quarter alone. As the score ended up being 36-9 at the end of the 3rd.
“I think it was the fact that we lost a close game at Jo-burg and we really wanted the win,” Evan Malczynski-Fairchild said.
In the fourth was when the Bulldogs kept up the pressure and only let Forrest Area score 5 while the Bulldogs scored 15 and went on to win. The Bulldogs leading scorers were Will Jacobs with 14 points, followed by Beau Vizina with 10. They had 13 steals to 11 turnovers as they did very well when it came to not turning the ball over.
