XC gets muddy in Charlevoix

The Bulldogs traveled to Charlevoix to compete at the mud run, the most favored race of the season on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the high school.

This race is 3.1 miles long and the course obtains three hay bails that you have to jump over also a big log. The race also had two mud pits that the runners had to run threw. The race was dived into age groups, letting the 11th and 12th graders run first than 9th and 10th after, and than leaving the middle schoolers and anyone else who wanted to run, ran last.

“There were 17 schools there today and the girls were very close to the top two teams (38 seconds from second place and 1:54 from the first).” coach Sarah Furman said.

Next meet is Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Boyne City Co-Ed partner race.
