You know when Christmas is around when student council collects for Toys for Tots. Every year down near the secondary school main entrance, there is a box to put your unwrapped toys in.
“We get a lot of donations from people that just come in to get there kid,” paraprofessional Sue Smith said.
Donations will be accepted until the week before Christmas so organizers have time to wrap and distribute. Donations can also be made anywhere you see the Toys for Tots sign or boxes.
Student council vice-president Sky Bunker thinks the organization is an amazing project to be a part of and to contribute to.
“They don’t have to be just bought gifts,” Bunker said. “They can be old, but not opened, gifts.”
Every kid should have something to wake up to on Christmas morning.
“My mom said next year that our family isn’t getting gifts for ourselves,” junior council representative Pamela Braund said. “We are taking everything we get and donating it to Toys for Tots.”
