Girls basketball preseason starts

Tonight at 6 p.m., girls in grades 9-12 will be competing against each other for spots on the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams. Our basketball teams have not always been the biggest on the girls side of the spectrum so seeing the sign-up sheet full this preseason makes girls even more excited about games to start.

The teams travel to Pickford on Tuesday, Nov. 28., so the girls only have a few weeks to get prepared for what this season has in store.

Hear’s hoping for a good turnout at tryouts and a great season ahead.

“Every year we try to raise the bar with our program,” girls varsity coach Pat Clancy said. “We had a really good first night that comes from having girls invested in the program. The seniors last year handed over a very healthy and young program. We have girls that have been in our program since 7th grade. The girls feel like it is their program and what they put in is what they will get out.”
