Central Lake Invitational

On Monday, May 7, the varsity track team travelled to Central Lake for their annual invitational meet. The boys finished in 4th with 66 points while the girls finished in 2nd with 107 points. The teams who competed in this invite were Johannesburg-Lewiston, Grand Traverse Academy, Bellaire, Mancelona, Gaylord St. Mary’s, Central Lake, Onaway, Ellsworth, Forest Area, and Pellston.

“The boys ran hard tonight and we got to see several try different events. Charles Kennedy set his new P.R. in the 3200 and is looking very strong, David Burkhart also threw is farthest in discus tonight. They are looking strong and we hope they continue to develop,” boys coach Brandon Beltz said.

“I am very pleased with the team’s fight today.  We continue to improve.  We trailed GTA until the final two events, and they edged them by one point for the runner up position,” girls coach Sarah Furman said.
