On April 27, the bulldogs’ baseball team won big time against the third highest team in the conference, Mancelona. The wins have put the IL team in second place in the conference, behind Gaylord St. Mary.

“We were angry, and that makes us focused,” junior Stephen Wilson said. “These weren’t just wins, they were messages to the rest of the conference.”

Overall, the team is performing much better than last year.

“We hit the ball really well and our defense was outstanding. Everyone played well,” junior pitcher and shortstop Ian Clancy said.

The Bulldogs won the first game 8-3 and the second game with a mercy of 13-1.

“We stayed in it and didn’t give up,” sophomore Luke Parker said. “I struck out once, but that’s about it.”

This week the team will play East Jordan and Bellaire in the conference.
