Both Girls and Boys Pull District Matchups

The Inland Lakes Basketball programs are ready for their seasons to start, both doing a lot of work in the off season to get ready. With everyone ready for the season to begin, both teams now know who they will play in the first round of Districts.

The girls play St. Ignace in St. Ignace on February 29 at 6 p.m. The boys play East Jordan at home on March 7 at 6p.m.

The boys were eliminated by East Jordan last year and hope that they will not have the same outcome.

“I feel like this will be a good test for us,” senior Mike O’Connor said. “They eliminated us last year in districts, and we’ll be trying to get our revenge against them.”

The girls, who were eliminated by Boyne City last year and St. Ignace two years ago, hope to have a better outcome this year.

“We know that they are a good team,” junior Cloe Mallory said. “It’s going to be a good challenge for us. We are going to have to play our hardest.”

“To be the best, you have to beat the best,” varsity girls head coach Pat Clancy said.
