The 6-12 Band helped the elementary school kick off the reading month Read-A-Thon on Wednesday afternoon in a ceremony which honored area veterans.

They launched their Book Camp theme for the month of March. The veterans were there to read with the students and also talk about boot camp. The Inland Lakes Band was there performing patriotic songs. The students also did a cadence that tied in with a reading theme.

Dr. Suess’ 112th birthday was celebrated as well, which is Read Across America day.
